We are having a fun Women’s Rally & Fashion Show on Saturday, September 25th. This day will be focused on a rally in Monterey with wine tasting followed by the opportunity to drive our cars on the Laguna Seca Raceway afterward! …and there’s more! The day will end with a Fashion Show at the Women-owned Monterey Touring Vehicles.
This fundraiser is presented by AT&T, our Platinum Sponsor Monterey Touring Vehicles, our Designer Sponsor Brochu Walker, Beauty SponsorHeidi’s Studio Carmel, and Wine Sponsor Dawn’s Dream Winery. They believe in our mission ‘Creating Women Leaders One Girl at a Time’ by ‘Empowering Women and Inspiring Girls’.
The theme of this year’s event is ‘SHINE! Celebrating Women Leaders in Business and Community’.
The proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to low-income Women who seek to attend workshops and seminars to support their leadership growth and development. These important trainings are often financially out of reach for Women of limited means and we are missing out on a deep pool of knowledge and experience from these Women. Money should not be the reason Women don’t have access to the information they need to advance their careers, our society needs more diverse perspectives at all leadership levels.

She has been selected as a Remarkable Woman in Monterey County to take part in our Macy’s Fashion show fundraiser honoring professional Women in our community. This event will benefit Gathering for Women.
The event will take place:

9:15am Prize Drawing Being
10:15am Fashion Show
Macy’s 100 Del Monte Center Monterey, CA 93940 – Level 2
Admission: A pillow, blanket or sleeping bag. Items can be new or in like-new condition. These blankets and pillows should be small enough to roll up, so homeless women can easily carry them. Collected items will be donated to Gathering for Women.

We also encourage women to dress to match their car’s color or their car’s time period. There will be awards for the best owner/car presentation in each category as well as one best in show awarded by judges. Local and national press will be covering the car show.

CAR SHOW WITH A CAUSE
The idea for the Prancing Ponies Foundation, Rally, and Car Show stems from an experience in San Francisco where I was at a stop sign next to a bus stop watching 3 teenage girls and reminiscing about my own experience as a teenager. The girls suddenly grew silent and I noticed they were looking at me. One of the girls said ‘Miss, I like your car’ and without knowing where this came from but I said ‘I expect you to get one too’. Our eyes locked and I’ll never forget her little face as she slowly nodded in agreement. I knew in that moment there was a real connection made with her and that I could use my Ferrari to inspire young girls. The Car Show provides an opportunity for young girls to be inspired to pursue careers in the automotive/motorsports industry and be empowered by seeing other women car enthusiasts like yourself.
All proceeds are donated to the Prancing Ponies Foundation to help ‘Create Women Leaders One Girl at a Time’. We do this by sending girls to our Leadership-Summer Academy each summer. In 2017 we graduated our first Academy in Paris. This year we graduated our second Academy in the San Francisco Bay Area. You can find out more information about our Future Women Leaders here.

After completing a hugely successful rally this year and welcoming our Founding Drivers we are all definitely looking forward to next year’s rally August 2 – 4, 2019. Location TBD. Registration for the Prancing Ponies Rally 2019 is will open January 2019.
